Building strength
Imagine a wall of a lovely house. Imagine if a few small pieces of the wall were missing . It'll be ok most of the time but sometimes, maybe in the winter or in the storms the wall might not be able to manage to be at its best.
The dyslexic learner sometimes has some gaps in their walls - a gap that maybe was once ok but now would make the wall stronger if it was revisited and strengthened. Some times the gaps need time to replenish . Sometimes new ideas are needed.
In specialist session 6 weeks block we look for the small steps needed to build strong walls and then we use mulitsensory small steps to build new knowledge and understanding through structured programmes of teaching.
These sessions are 1-1.

Parents- please know we can work in your learner's school too if the school are amenable..
Our school tutor has an enhanced DBS ( on the update service) and current safeguarding level 1 training ( renewed at least annually) and so if a school agrees and can provide a quiet space we can visit your child in school.
(A quiet space would usually be somewhere like a entrance hall/school hall )
What's the difference between 1-1 and specialist sessions ?
The principles of teaching at 3 bright Stars remain the same but the focus is different .
1-1 sessions build on general skill gaps/ interest/ and might focus on reading / writing or maths
The specialist sessions are designed to meet the needs of the children with dyslexia ( or suspected dyslexia) and will likely have a heavier focus upon phonology, phonics, reading, spelling, writing, organising and sequencing

Specialist dyslexia teacher 1-1 sessions to follow later in 2025
Sarah is currently working towards her specialist dyslexia teacher qualification . From Aug 1st bespoke specialist dyslexia programmes will be available .
The programme begins with a double visit for assessments. From this a plan will be created identifying the specific gaps the learner is experiencing. Next a bespoke 6 week plan of 1 hr per week is planned. Assessment and plan making = £135 - approx 2 hours 1-1 plus parent meeting and targets.
6 week block pricing is the same as 1-1 session
1-1 sessions usually during term time
weekly rate
60 mins = £45
40 mins = £35
To be paid in 6 week blocks in advance at a discounted rate ( pay for 5 - have 6 sessions ). 1 session each block may be carried over.
Parent Support
Need to talk something over about your child's education ?
Finding it hard to know how to help and would love to know more about helping your child to learn to read?
Why not book a supportive online or face to face meeting? These might take place in a coffee shop of choice or online using teams.
£20 per 40 minutes.

Although a break is good we know that for some families the school holidays is the ideal space to squeeze in some extra fun!
